Job Bank Employer Profile Creation
Setting up a Job Bank employer profile is the first step for Canadian businesses and authorized representatives to post jobs and hire qualified talent. This guide outlines who can register, what documents are needed, and how immigration professionals can represent employers.
Who Can Register for a Job Bank Employer Profile?
You are eligible to create an employer profile if:
- Your business is legally operating in Canada.
- You hold a valid Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) business number. (Note: This is different from your payroll account number.)
- You follow all applicable provincial and federal employment laws.
Information and Documents Required
To register your employer profile, you will need:
-
Business Details:
- Legal name of the business and address
- CRA business number
- Summary of your core business activities
-
Contact Information:
- Full name and title of your company’s authorized representative
- Business email address and phone number
-
Additional Documentation (if requested):
- Proof of business registration
- Business licenses or permits (as applicable)
For RCICs, Lawyers, Notaries, and Paralegals
If you're assisting a client as a licensed immigration consultant, lawyer, notary, or paralegal, Job Bank considers you a third-party representative. Here's how to proceed:
-
Create your personal user account at Job Bank for Employers.
-
Register your client’s employer profile using:
- Their payroll account number (e.g., 123456789RP0001)
- Their business name, address, and contact number
-
Clearly indicate your role as a third-party representative and provide your RCIC number (if applicable).
-
Include your client’s full name and phone number for verification purposes.
Tip: If the payroll number is already linked to another profile, consult the Job Bank FAQ on payroll account registration.
Note: Create a separate employer file for each client. Always use your personal user account for this process.
Steps to Complete Registration
- Go to the Job Bank Employer Registration Portal.
- Fill in all business and representative details accurately.
- Confirm your email address and complete the setup process.
